In the spirit of community inclusion and elder care,
Yoshantea and the Yanzheng Community collaborated to host a meaningful hands-on workshop.
Centered around local tea leaves, the DIY “Tea Art” class encouraged senior participants to explore new creative possibilities through tea culture.
Participants began by sketching designs with colored pens,
then applied glue to arrange tea stems, fragments, and coarse leaves, crafting nature-inspired, three-dimensional artworks.
This creative process not only stimulated their imagination and focus,
but also rekindled a joyful sense of accomplishment and love for handmade work.
Laughter and warmth filled the entire session—a true moment where tea became a bridge between people and everyday life.
Practicing Sustainability: Bringing the SDGs to Life
This event echoes the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
• Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being — Encouraging physical and mental activity and social connection among seniors
• Goal 4: Quality Education — Promoting lifelong learning through tea culture
• Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities — Strengthening local networks through community engagement
At Yoshantea, we have long embraced the richness of tea culture in many forms.
Moving forward, we will continue to engage with communities and promote cultural exchange as a way to share the lasting beauty of tea—and to live out sustainability in action.
